Where did June go?

I have no idea where the entire month of June went.

I did however, on June 29th, celebrate my 21st birthday! According to Matt and our friends, I am no longer a "toddler." Whatever jerks.
Matt and I are 2 years 10 months and 8 days apart.
I think he's just glas that because of me, he is no longer the youngest of the group.

Anyway... We stayed at the Monte Carlo and I loved it there. They just re-did the entire pool area in March. It has a sweet wave pool, lazy river, hot tub, regular pool, and volleyball courts. May I just say that not only did we spend most of our time there because, it was 108 THE ENTIRE WEEKEND, but also because it was the best people watching I've ever encountered. We did go get a diet coke float (Would I sound fat if I said it was my favorite part?) As well as spend tons of money on crappy food. I even gambled! Matt and Eric tried to teach me to play the slot machines, I seriously had no idea what I was doing. In result, I lost 30 bucks. Now I can say I did it, and honestly when we go back I probably won't do it again. It was seriously such a fun vacation.

Now its's July 13th, my Aunt Lori's birthday! This woman is the bomb. She is my second mom, always has been always will be. My mom and Lori were single moms at the same time. I spent most of my childhood with her and her kids. She is so supportive of me, always willing to help me with math homework, talk to me about school, buy me diet coke, and has been present at all 21 birthday parties.  I love her very  much, and am very glad to be so close with my aunt.

I also got a promotion at work! I am now an Assistant Care Manager, meaning I am working in an office. I deal with families, doctors, medication, and any problems with residents. That also means I am on call 24-7. Usually, it's not too bad, but I really don't like hearing my phone at three A.M.

I really do like it, however there are pros and cons just like any job. Pros: I get every weekend off, every holiday off, my poor back is getting a much needed rest, and get to sleep 2 hours longer than I used to. Cons: I don't get to work one-on-one with the residents. I still see them, when they are having meals or at activities. But it's not the same. I really love having my relationships with them, and it's been kinda hard. The people I take care of are the only reason I do my job. Trust me the pay alone is not worth it. I am grateful for the opportunity and experience, and I work with awesome people, and have awesome bosses!
