MUST WATCH.

Here I sit trying to finish my final paper.
We had to choose a disease that runs in our families.
That we wanted to know more about.
Obviously I chose skin cancer.
For those who don't know, my mom was diagnosed with level IV Melanoma.
Meaning the cancer was deep.
Meaning it had been there for longer than she was aware.
By some miracle, the cancer didn't metastasize.
Luckily, because she was seven months pregnant with ME.
In one terrifying surgery, the cancer was gone.
Left behind, a foot long scar on her back.

So I looked up this video I watched forever ago. (I think my mom posted it)

Full on tears running down my face.
No I have never been in a tanning bed.
No I never will.
Because this shit is REAL.
My mom was 27.
Why is something so easy to prevent so deadly?
I think everyone should watch this.
If it doesn't make you change your mind about sunscreen, I don't know what will.
I'm so proud of my mom.
For keeping herself AND me alive.
That's strength and love at it's best.
My mom is now 21 years melenoma FREE.
Cheers to the rest of your life momma.
